Where the Trail Began

New York City is both the origin and destination of the 9/11 National Memorial Trail. Here, at the World Trade Center site, nearly 3,000 lives were lost on September 11, 2001. The trail connects this hallowed ground to the Pentagon Memorial in Virginia and the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania, creating a 1,500+ mile network of remembrance.

Whether you arrive by ferry from Liberty State Park or cycle down the Hudson River Greenway, your journey culminates at the twin reflecting pools where the towers once stood—a place of reflection, remembrance, and resilience.
