To honor the heroes of September 11th, 2001 by creating and maintaining a living memorial that connects the three attack sites, educates future generations, and brings communities together through shared remembrance.

Our History
The September 11th National Memorial Trail was conceived to honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The trail creates a lasting tribute by connecting the three sites of the attacks: the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Federally designated by Congress in 2021, the trail utilizes existing pathways, greenways, and trails across multiple states, creating a continuous route that serves multiple purposes: as a memorial, an educational resource, and a recreational pathway.
